This afternoon I ran six miles on my treadmill to avoid the summer rain. And in the process, I passed 500 miles run for the year. I really wanted to run outside, but I didn't know if the rain was going to bring thunderstorms. Now that my run is over, it is barely sprinkling outside and no thunderstorms. Oh well. There is always tomorrow to go outside and run.
I ran outside yesterday. It felt good being in the open air. Physically, I wasn't that good. My legs were very tired and sore from Sunday's 10K. In the middle of my run a pain in my lower back started. I took a short walk break to give a break to my legs and back. It helped. A couple of blocks away from my house, a man in a van driving by yelled out "run faster" out of his window. I said something back to him. I doubt he heard it. I stopped at a stoplight for oncoming traffic to go by. I leaned over and had my hands on my knees taking a breather when a man on a bike rode by me. He asked if I was OK. I said I was and I thanked him. He could have rode by and made a stupid comment. But he didn't. It was really nice of him to ask me. Not all people that pass me on the street are jerks.
