Vacation is really nice. I've enjoyed going to sleep later then 9 pm. I have been going to sleep around midnight every night. Before I had a full-time job that required me to be at work around 5 am, I always went to bed late. Its nice to actually go to sleep when it is dark out, not when it is still light out like I have been doing the past six summers.
While watching the Next Food Network Star last night, I was surprised at the final two. Rory and Jag. After the judges told Amy that they were going to let her go, the TV screen went black and this is where the twist happened. Jag lied to the judges about his past. He said that he graduated from culinary school and served in Afghanistan with the Marines. Both were lies. When he met with the producers in a face to face interview he said he did go to culinary school but did not graduate. He also served in the Marines, but never went to Afghanistan. It was at that point he withdrew himself from the competition. The judges had no choice to bring back Amy for the final two.
I didn't understand why they got rid of her in the first place. She was better then Jag in all of the competitions and when they cooked live on the air on the Rachael Ray show. Next week the votes will be in and we will find out who will get their own show on the Food Network. Hopefully it will be Amy. I love to watch the Food Network, especially when I'm running on my treadmill. It makes the time go by faster.
Besides the jewelry party that I'm hosting today, the dogs will get a surprise. They will be going on their own doggy vacation. This afternoon, my husband and I will be dropping them off at a kennel. The kennel has air conditioning and a huge fenced in area. Unlike our backyard, Blitzkrieg and Kelly will actually be able to run around.
Tuesday my husband and I planned to go to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. But we might put off that trip. It is supposed to rain and there is a chance of thunderstorms. That wouldn't be good to drive almost two hours to see the rides closed. We will have to check weather.com later today and tonight.
