Open Class

I've have wanted to enter my photography at the county fair for years. I am finally going to do it this year.

I've been a photographer since my freshman year in college. When I was still in college, I did enter some photographs in Open Class at the fair. I really don't remember what they were or what place I was given. After that, year after year, I would say I was going to enter photographs. When I became a photographer at a newspaper, that changed my status in the Open Class event. I went from the Adult category to Professional. Profession is anyone receiving money for their photographs. Professionals can only receive ribbons for their work, unlike Adults. Adults receive premiums and ribbons. The premiums aren't much, but it's money.

Since I'm no longer a paid photographer, I decided to enter photographs into this year's county fair. I narrowed down my photographs to 15. Then cut them again. The final total of photographs that I'm entering is 11.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my photographs will fare in the judges eye and against others. Below are the last four photographs I cut.

Class: Metal

Class: Another other structure

Class: Flowers

Class: Rural Life
