Running on my own treadmill is just the way that I remember it: wonderful. My first run back on my fixed treadmill was Tuesday.
When I first started running, it felt weird. I hadn't been on a treadmill in a week. I had to readjust to the belt. Which I quickly did. For the first couple of minutes on the treadmill, I was smiling. I was just so happy to have it back. During the entire month I was waiting to have it fixed, I was thankful to have the opportunity to run on a local treadmill and outside. The days where I ran at the local hotel were some of the bad days of this winter. There was snow, rain, fog and cold temperatures. My first run back on the treadmill, I logged 20 miles. It was like we were never separated. It felt smooth and those three hours flew by.
With the treadmill working again, I will be logging more miles. The treadmill couldn't have gone down at a worst time. I was in the middle of training for an upcoming 50 mile race. I tried to keep my mileage up as best as I could. In that month it was unusable, I did log two weeks with over 100 miles. Those miles were a combination of hotel treadmill and outside miles. I will mostly likely be logging that mileage this week. Those miles are all for my training. With my treadmill working again, I'm confident that I will be ready for that race.
