Elite Eight

The field for the women's basketball championship elite eight is set.

Two games will be played Monday night. The first game of the evening is Notre Dame vs Tennessee. The second game will be Gonzaga vs Stanford. I would love to see Notre Dame and Gonzaga win. Notre Dame hasn't been to a Final Four since 2001 when they won the national championship. Gonzaga has never been to a Final Four. These games on Monday will be tough for both teams. They are facing a pair of great teams with plenty of experience playing in elite eight games.

The other two games will be played Tuesday night. The first game of the night is Duke vs Connecticut. These two teams met in the regular season in January. And it wasn't too good for Duke. Connecticut defeated Duke 87-51. I hope this time around the game will be closer and Duke can play more competitively. The second game of the night is Texas A&M vs Baylor. This will be the fourth time this season that the Big 12 opponents meet. Baylor won all three previous meetings by small margins. I hope Baylor can beat them again and make it to the Final Four in Indianapolis.
