NCAA D1 Volleyball National Semifinals

The NCAA D1 Volleyball National Semifinals will take place Thursday in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In the first semifinal, BYU will face #2 Texas at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. BYU reached the semifinals by defeating #6 Florida State 3-1 and #14 Nebraska 3-0. Texas swept #15 Colorado State 3-0 and #7 North Carolina 3-1.

In the second semifinal, #1 Stanford will play #5 Penn State at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Stanford defeated Oregon State 3-1 and swept #8 Florida 3-0 in the regionals. Penn State swept #12 UCLA and beat Big Ten conference winner #4 Wisconsin 3-1.

The winners will meet Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the National Championship on ESPN2.

Final Cross Country races

The cross country season has come to an end. The Nike Cross Nationals or NXN were held on December 6 in Portland, Oregon.

Fayetteville-Manlius out of New York won the girls title with 70 points over Great Oak (California) with 149 points and Carmel (Indiana) with 173 points. Overall girls winner was Allie Ostrander from Kenai High School in Alaska in 17:19.

111 points. Wayzata from Minnesota placed second with 159 points and North Central (Washington) was third with 178 points. Tanner Anderson from North Central (Washington) won the individual title in 15:11.

The Foot Locker XC Championships were held Saturday in San Diego, California. Anna Rohrer, the 2012 winner, won the girls race and Grant Fisher won his second straight title.

The South won the girls team title with 41 points over the Midwest with 44 points.

The West won the boys title with 31 points. The Midwest placed second with 37 points.
