Over the weekend I had some people over. They said they would be at my house in an hour to hour and fifteen minutes. Since I had an hour, I cleaned my house to make it look presentable. I swept the carpets, hardwood and linoleum floors, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned off my dining room table and put the dogs outside. I really didn't want to put the dogs outside because it was hot and humid. But they are not visitor friendly dogs. I figured they would be coming back in the house soon.
In that hour window, I woke my husband up and said people were coming over. It was lunch time, but we decided to eat after they left. Closer to the hour they were supposed to meet at my house, I changed my clothes and went downstairs to wait for them. An hour came and went. No visitors. I thought maybe they got caught up in traffic. So I continued to wait and watch TV, while my husband was upstairs on the computer.
An hour and half goes by. Still no visitors. At this point, the dogs have been outside for a while. I asked my husband if they could come upstairs with him. He said yes and I brought the dogs in the house back into the air conditioning.
Two hours since the phone call and no visitors. I thought about calling them, but since they were the ones that were late, I thought they should have called. They did have my phone number. At this point, I was very upset. No phone calls to explain why they were late. My time is important as yours is. I don't like waiting around when I could have been doing other things. Also, my husband and I still haven't eaten lunch at it was past 2 pm.
Around 2:20 pm, I see their car go by the house. I said to my husband, "I bet they don't apologize for being late." They get onto the porch and knock. I walked over to the door and opened it. I greeted them. They greeted me back. No apology as to why they were over an hour late. That angered me more. I wasted over two hours of my time waiting for them. In that time, my husband and I could have eaten lunch, washed the dishes and done some work on my computer. But in that time, I made my dogs sit outside in the heat and humidity and had my husband cooped up in our computer room, hungry.
I don't understand people.
