Where have you've been?

I haven't had an oil change since November. It sounds bad. But it isn't.

I haven't crossed the 3,000 mile mark yet. My car is under it. The little sticky thing on my windshield says I need my next oil change at 2/3/2008 or 53,000 miles. So far I passed one of the two. My car has approximately 52,500 miles. I'm getting close, but I'm not there yet.

Next week I was planning to get my oil changed. I have a couple of weddings coming up that are out of the county and I wanted to make sure my car was OK. Today I received a letter in the mail from the car dealership where I get my oil changed. The letter talked about how scheduled maintenance is important. Which I know. It also said their records indicate my car has approximately 56,045 miles and is due for service. I would like to point out your approximately is wrong. Some people might drive crazy miles. I don't.

Its true that I do drive a lot for work. It seems I'm always filling my car. Every morning, I drive less then a mile to work. In the afternoon when I'm scheduled to photograph a game, I do drive there. Usually that is only four times a week. The most I have driven in a month for work was this past May of 436 miles.

Thank you dealership for looking out for me and my car. But I have been waiting to get my oil changed when its closer to the estimated mileage you quoted me back in November. I'll be there next week I promise. Maybe Monday morning after work.
