I'm seriously considering this race. But I'm hesitant to sign up for it. The registration fee until December 31, 2011 is $175. That is pretty high. That doesn't include a hotel room or the gas traveling down there. But I just did pay a huge amount to register for the Umstead 50 mile Endurance Run in March 2012.
Do I take the plunge and sign up for it? Should I stick closer to home and sign up for RunWoodstock Hallucination 100? Or register for the Umstead 100 Mile Endurance run or wait until 2013? So many things to think about.

All good questions Deloris! I can't believe you are already looking at a 100, but given the miles you log, I guess it shouldn't be surprising. Wish I had some advice about the races, but I am still trying to conquer my 1st 50 miler in December. Anyway, I'm looking forward to following your training and seeing what you ultimately decide!
I've been thinking about 100M for a while now. That has been my ultimate goal after entering the world of ultras.
Go for Umstead!!!!!
I think I will try to register for the Umstead 100M when it opens for 2013. I am also really leaning towards running Burning River 100M also.
