Miles run in 2013 - final count
Another good year of running. My mileage count isn't as high as last year or 2011. I still ran high mileage, but I rarely reached running 20 miles a day. My highest mileage daily was anywhere from 14-17 miles.
Besides not running 20 miles a day, I had issues with another treadmill. The year old treadmill I was running on, a piece of the frame broke. We had a technician come and look at our treadmill. He said that the frame couldn't be fixed. So that meant we needed a new treadmill. The year old treadmill only was a year old and we still had a multi-year warranty on it, so the company replaced it for free. It was the same treadmill, it was just updated. It took about six weeks for the whole process. So in that time, I ran outside. I ran on a track, walking path, empty fairgrounds and the city streets. Of course the time that I was without a treadmill, it was a very hot and humid summer.
Other issues that occurred during the year were a few injuries. I strained my right hamstring twice and mildly strained my left hamstring. After straining my right hamstring pretty bad, I went to the doctor. She gave me stretches to do. If the stretches didn't work, she was going to put me in physical therapy. Thankfully, it never got that far. The stretches, icing and therapy patches worked.
So I think 2013 has been a successful year. It is the third year I have run over 5000 miles. Hope 2014 will be just as great.
Total miles run for the year:
2013: 5079
2012: 5213.3
2011: 5745
2010: 2764.9
