Bowl selection Sunday

Raleigh News & Observer/Chuck Liddy
mgoblue.com

Bowl season is just a few weeks away. The Bowl selections took place yesterday.

Michigan Wolverines will be playing Kansas State Wildcats on December 28 in the Buffalo Wild Wings bowl in Phoenix, Arizona. The BWW Bowl is the most exciting bowl, but at least Michigan will be playing in a bowl game.

Another team I would like to see do well in their bowl game is Duke Blue Devils. They were defeated Saturday by a better Florida State Seminoles team in the ACC Championship game. Florida State won 45-7. Duke will be playing Texas A&M Aggies in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia on December 31.

Six other Big Ten teams will be playing in a bowl games too. The other teams playing in games are Minnesota vs Syracuse in the Texas Bowl in Houston, Texas on December 27; Nebraska vs Georgia in the Gator Bowl on January 1, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida; LSU vs Iowa in the Outback Bowl on January 1 in Tampa, Florida; Wisconsin vs South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl on January 1 in Orlando, Florida, Michigan State vs Stanford in the Rose Bowl on January 1 in Pasadena, California and Ohio State vs Clemson on January 3 in the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida.

Ohio State vs Michigan

Detroit Free Press/Kirthmon F. Dozier
That photo says it all.

Michigan's Devin Gardner was in tears while meeting Ohio State's Braxton Miller on the field after losing 42-41 Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

Michigan scored a touchdown with 32 seconds left making the score 42-41. They could have kicked an extra point to tie the game and go into overtime. Michigan decided to go for two-point conversion to win the game. Gardner threw the ball into coverage and it was picked off.

Michigan finished the regular season 7-5 overall and 3-5 in the Big Ten. Michigan will find out which bowl game they will be heading to on Sunday, December 8 on ESPN during the Bowl Selection Show. Ohio State finished the regular season 12-0 and 8-0 in the Big Ten. Ohio State will play Michigan State Saturday, December 7 in the Big Ten Championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
